Private aerial experiences above British Columbia
Fixed-wing flight works with the air. No rotor vibration. No sudden banking. Just silence and altitude — the world revealed at 3,500 feet.
The Cessna 172 has carried pilots since 1956. It is the most flown aircraft in history. There is a reason. Its character is irreplaceable.
Two seats. You and one companion. No strangers, no commentary, no schedule but yours. A view of BC that almost no one ever sees.
Those who do, understand why. The Classic Wing Society is a private community for those who share a particular understanding of what makes an experience worth having. Membership is by flight only.
Discover the Society →There are faster aircraft. There are louder ones. There are tours with commentary and thirty other passengers. This is not that.
The Cessna 172 was designed for one thing: pure flight. No turbines. No vibration. Just you, the aircraft, and sixty minutes of British Columbia the way it was meant to be seen — from above, in silence, at your own pace.
The Coast Mountains rise to 1,700 metres. From the cockpit, you see the full range — peak to valley, snow to forest — in a single unbroken view.
One of North America's great river systems meets the Pacific here. The delta spreads like a map drawn by nature — vast and impossible to see any other way.
The city between the mountains and the ocean. BC Place. The harbour. Stanley Park. All of it, laid out below you, belonging entirely to you for sixty minutes.
Because some things improve with age. The 172 has more combined flight hours than any aircraft ever built. It is stable, quiet, and intimate — a cockpit, not a cabin. You sit beside the pilot, not behind a window three rows back.
This is not a sightseeing package. This is a private flight. There is a difference, and you will feel it the moment the wheels leave the ground.
Everything in The Flight — plus 30 minutes in our Redbird flight simulator. Replay your route. Fly over BC Place at any angle. See Vancouver at night. Or leave British Columbia entirely. The world is your flight plan.
Circle the stadium at any altitude, any angle. See match day Vancouver from above — before, during, or after the game.
The city lights below, mountains dark beyond. A view you cannot get from the real aircraft — available only here, at any time.
Today you flew over Golden Ears. Now fly over the Alps, the Sahara, or home. The Redbird's world database has no limits.
The Cessna 172 Skyhawk has been in continuous production longer than any other aircraft ever built. Since its first flight in 1956, more than 44,000 have been manufactured. It has accumulated more flight hours than any other aircraft in the history of aviation.
Fighter jets get retired. Airliners get replaced. The 172 endures.
A helicopter fights the air. A fixed-wing aircraft works with it. The result is a ride that is quieter, smoother, and more natural — closer to how birds have always flown.
In the Cessna 172, you sit beside the pilot. Not behind glass, not in a row. You see exactly what the pilot sees. There is no barrier between you and the sky.
Our Cessna 172 is maintained by MRO Aviation Service — the same team that flies it. We do not outsource our maintenance. We know every bolt, every system, every hour.
If you know what a Cessna 172 is, you already understand why this matters.
If you don't — you're about to find out.
There is a certain kind of traveller who is not impressed by the newest, the fastest, or the loudest. They are impressed by what endures. The Classic Wing Society exists for them.
Members of The Classic Wing Society are not collecting points. They are part of a small, curated group of people who share a particular understanding of what makes an experience worth having.
Membership is by flight only. You cannot buy your way in. You earn it by going up.
Society members receive first access to all available slots — including FIFA 2026 match day bookings — before public release.
Complete your first Classic Wing flight. You will receive your Society membership within 24 hours of landing. There is no application. There is no fee. There is only the flight.
The Cessna 172 is not the fastest aircraft above Vancouver. It is not the most modern. It is the one that, sixty years after its first flight, still makes people look up when it passes overhead.
Some things are classic for a reason.
Welcome to the Society.
Joy holds a Commercial Pilot Licence and operates Classic Wing from CYPK, Pitt Meadows. Her approach to aviation is simple: flight is not transportation. It is a way of seeing.
Classic Wing is built on this belief — that the experience of flight, in a classic aircraft, above one of the world's most beautiful landscapes, is something worth doing slowly, privately, and well.
Flight stories, Vancouver from above, aviation culture, and the view from the cockpit. Updated regularly by Joy and the Classic Wing community.
There are more modern options. There are faster ones. But when the wheels leave the runway at CYPK and the Coast Range fills the windshield, nothing else matters.
From the ground, the Fraser is a river. From 3,500 feet, it becomes something else entirely — a braided, silver system spreading toward the Pacific like an open hand.
FIFA 2026 brings the world to Vancouver. For those who want to see the city differently — from above, privately, in a classic aircraft — Classic Wing has four slots per match day.
44,000 aircraft built. More flight hours than any other aircraft in history. In an industry obsessed with the new, the 172 simply endures.
Most people see Golden Ears from Highway 1. A few see it from hiking trails. Almost nobody sees it from the cockpit of a Cessna 172 at 6am, with the valley still in shadow below.
Flying the Redbird after a real flight is a strange and wonderful experience. The physics are the same. The controls are the same. But now you can go anywhere.

Most flight experience operators hire maintenance elsewhere and fly separately. At Classic Wing, the pilot and the maintenance team are the same organization — MRO Aviation Service, based at Pitt Meadows Airport (CYPK).
Classic Wing operates under a Transport Canada approved commercial flight operation. This is not a private joyride. This is a certified commercial aerial experience — held to the same regulatory standards as any commercial aviation operation in Canada.
Our Cessna 172 holds a current Certificate of Airworthiness under Transport Canada regulations. Registration C-FVEF is publicly verifiable through Transport Canada's aircraft registry. Maintenance records available upon request.
Every Classic Wing flight is conducted by a Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) holder. Not enthusiasts. Not students. Professional pilots — the same licence required by regional airlines.
Licensed aircraft maintenance organization based at CYPK, Pitt Meadows. We do not outsource our maintenance. We know every bolt, every system, every hour on every component. When we say the aircraft is ready to fly, we mean it with complete authority.
Before every flight, you will receive a full briefing — weather conditions, route, emergency procedures, and what to expect. If conditions are not right, we do not fly. No exceptions. Your safety is not a feature of our service. It is the foundation of it.
